Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join a team near Beechwood, MI. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, experience with general ledger functions, and a proactive approach to financial reporting and reconciliation. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting strategic financial decision-making.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and general ledger entriesPerform monthly, quarterly, and annual closingsManage accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsReconcile bank and credit card statementsAssist with budget preparation and financial forecastingEnsure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirementsSupport audits by providing necessary documentation and analysisMaintain and improve internal accounting controls and proceduresCollaborate with internal departments for accurate financial reportingQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field2+ years of accounting experience (public or private sector)Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulasExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines and work independentlyStrong communication and problem-solving abilitiesPreferred Qualifications:CPA or working toward CPA certificationExperience with inventory accounting or cost accountingFamiliarity with payroll processing or tax reportingPay Details: $58,000.00 to $65,000.00 per yearSearch managed by: Amaka Mozie Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
