Active Top Secret clearance is required to be considered.We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Software Engineer with 10 years of experience applying software development tradecraft in the multimedia exploitation forensics career field. The Engineer expertise should be centered around, but not limited to:Digital forensics and forensic tool developmentForensic analysis techniques, file systems, data recovery, and evidence handling best practicesDesign and architecture of complex forensic software solutionsProcessing and analyzing petabytes of digital evidence from various sources.Net programming and thin client front-end technologiesForensic standards and protocols, and an ability to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for digital evidence handlingForensic software deployed in the commercial cloud and capable of distributed processingDatabase and Storage Systems with NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB for large-scale document storage and object storage system using Azure, AWS, CephData technologies like Apache Kafka, Spark, Elasticsearch, SolrKnowledge of cloud-native technologies and containerization such as Docker, Kubernetes for deployment and orchestrationThe Engineer along with their team will sustain the deployed Government-Off-The-Shelf applications, related processes and over time make improvements by following the approved iterations and demonstrating changes that will optimize the operational users to analyze at a greater speed. The ideal candidate will be able to discuss strengths related to managing a highly skilled team in a high paced environment, bringing stakeholders that have unique perspectives into a comprehensive technology roadmap, which will help their team to steer by to meet operational customer demands. The Engineer with practical implementation experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning will aid in their accomplishment of their technical mission to improve the deployed application and process to a new, improved operational state.Key Responsibilities:Act as a subject matter expert for forensic tool portions of the customer code base and provide senior-level design guidance while leading a team of developers to implement new features and resolve software issuesLead the design, development and analysis of customer operational and application systemsLead the maintenance efforts of customer’s systems and applications including system enhancements, bug fixes, and security enhancementsIntegrate bug fixes, security enhancements and new capabilities as approved by the governmentDeliver forensic tool builds using agile processes to deliver incremental builds based upon agreed upon customer requirementsDevelop mechanisms to seamlessly share results with other customer applications using common databases, schemas and object storage methodsDevelop intuited interfaces to exploit and discover relationships between multiple collections of data stored across multiple databasesEstablish and maintain an Application Programming Interface to enforce backwards compatibility with original source and streamline development and integration of new functional modulesAssess and ensure software performance and reliability for all software modules and components including analytical and databases processesIntegrate new data types and analytic tools, techniques, and methodologies for seized mediaDeploy and maintain software and hardware within customer environmentsDeploy/maintain forensic tool deployments within all customer designated development and operational environments, including ensuring the tool remains consistent with all policies, procedures, and requirementsTechnical Experience or KnowledgeMinimum of 10 years of technical experience in software engineeringDemonstrated experience with multimedia exploitation processing, analysis, and data management including direct and recent experience building a petabyte-scale multimedia analysis platformDemonstrated experience managing petabyte-scale, complex technology programs, preferably within the government or law enforcement sectorsDemonstrated experience in developing and maintaining applications that handle petabyte-scale data and high-throughput processingTechnical experience in software development with a specialization in digital forensics and forensic tool developmentExpert knowledge of forensic analysis techniques, file systems, data recovery, and evidence handling best practicesDemonstrated experience in leading the design and architecture of complex forensic software solutionsExperience addressing the challenges associated with processing and analyzing petabytes of digital evidence from various sourcesProficiency in .Net programming languages as well as thin client front-end technologiesFamiliarity with forensic standards and protocols, and an ability to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for digital evidence handlingExtensive experience delivering forensic software deployed in the commercial cloud and capable of distributed processingExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing projects that span software development, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructureExperienced strategic planner, with a demonstrated ability to set a vision for a forensic toolkit's development and ensure alignment with organizational mission and goalsStrong communication skills;
