ABOUT THE POSITIONSenior Project Designer - Newark, NJ| Manasquan, NJ| Princeton, NJJoin VHB as a Senior Project Designer to help grow their expanding and innovative Land Development team in New Jersey. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope. Our clients include mixed-use, biotech, residential, multifamily, affordable housing, industrial, and hospitality developers. This position can be based in Manasquan, Newark or Princeton, New Jersey. Learn more about VHB's Land Development team here: Land Development | VHBResponsibilitiesDirect projects by managing and delegating tasks, forecasting and proactively addressing workload, financial performance, and staffing needs, while collaborating with clients and teammates across the organizationOversee and engage in the development of existing client relationships, including conducting periodic meetings, developing proposals and budgets, and gathering feedback with teammatesPrepare agreements and manage the creation and approval of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimatesAnalyze complex technical challenges and develop new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutionsDevelop engineering plans and specifications in a team environment for a multitude of projects Skills and AttributesWillingness to learn implementation of integrated services projects in a team with multidisciplinary skillsKnowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulationsExhibits strong leadership skills and growth potentialHas interest in growing business development skillsQualificationsBS in Civil Engineering or related field8+ years of experience working on complex projects that involved site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater managementExperience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specification, and engineering reportsUnderstanding of New Jersey marketExperience with GIS Systems is a plus - GIS is one of the tools we use to create better projectsProficient in the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, MS OfficeOur best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New Jersey is $100,000-130,000. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
