We are seeking highly motivated candidates to join Oracleu2019s pre-sales team, focusing on cloud application solution sales to research institutions. As a Principal Solution Engineer, you will be the expert responsible for formulating and leading presales functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a Subject Matter Expert resource and mentor for rising Solution Engineers. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Solution Engineers. Designs and delivers memorable presentations and demonstrations. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions. Career Level - IC4 Responsibilities Responsibilities u2022 Actively maintain an in-depth of product knowledge in their designated product areas, including: 1. Competitive offerings 2. All solutions enabled by the products 3. Portfolio of case studies of implementations 4. Links to development teams and information on future product development u2022 Cover all aspects of pre-sales activities required to generate subscription based sales. u2022 Able to respond to RFP's, conduct discovery, prepare and deliver demonstrations to our strategic customer base and prospective clients. u2022 Able to collaborate with all surrounding sales support teams to facilitate our selling cycles. u2022 Ensuring the Presales team and specified groups have up-to-date and relevant product knowledge in the designated product areas u2022 Maintain awareness of all relevant competitive products (e.g. Ellucian, Campus Management, Workday, SAP, Infor, and others) u2022 Understand the needs and pains of the customer and then link them to a set of products/solutions provided by Oracle u2022 Demonstrate leadership abilities and superior presentation skills in a multi-cultural environment. u2022 Contributing to the generation and maintenance of relevant product area-specific Value Propositions u2022 Create and maintain relationships with key product collaborators like Product Marketing, Development, Strategy, Partners, etc. u2022 Contributes to the achievement of a product/business unit target u2022 Enthusiastic and confident PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: u2022 Knowledge of grant processes, regulations and policies u2022 Experience working at a high research institution u2022 High-level understanding of all aspects of Financials: General Ledger, Financial Reporting, Procure-to-Pay, Asset Acquisition to Retirement, Customer/Sponsor Invoice to Payment u2022 Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. u2022 Thorough knowledge of system and application design & In-depth knowledge of competitors. u2022 Demonstrated project management and leadership skills. u2022 Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. u2022 Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. u2022 Bachelors from an accredited university with a degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics and an advanced degree highly desirable. u2022 Minimum of 4 years in either applications pre-sales or experience implementing the following solutions: Oracle Cloud, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle PeopleSoft, Infor, Ellucian Banner or Colleague solutions, SAP, or Workday. u2022 Productive and self-motivated while working virtually. u2022 Able to work under pressure u2022 Strong leadership skills and experience leading teams of people toward a common goal u2022 Strong executive presence and presentation skills u2022 Travel: 70% (post pandemic) #LI-Remote Disclaimer: Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only US: Hiring Range in USD from $45.43 to $85.63 per hour; from: $94,500 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 65/35 - 80/20.
