CDM Smith (a privately held, employee-owned firm) is seeking a strategic, hands-on, and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our global financial operations. The CFO will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing financial strategy, ensuring fiscal integrity, and driving sustainable growth across our global engineering and construction services. The CFO will ensure professional and ethical financial practices and a cohesive finance service offering across all levels of the organization, which is aligned with business strategy, to ensure the functionality and sustained profitability of the Company. u2022 Manages, leads, develops, and mentors high performance teams in the finance, accounting, and procurement functions. u2022 Fosters a culture of teamwork, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. u2022 Develops and executes financial strategies and programs aligned with corporate goals. u2022 Reviews and approves the execution of business strategies for the firm services and programs . u2022 Provides executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities and provides consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations. u2022 Establishes and maintains strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions, providing accurate and relevant advice. u2022 Advises the CEO and Board on financial planning, risk management, and capital structure. u2022 Develops and evaluates short- and long-term strategic financial and operating objectives for the Company, in line with overall business strategy. u2022 Formulates and implements finance, accounting, and procurement programs, policies, and procedures, effectively cascading to the senior financial management to ensure achievement of financial objectives. u2022 Oversees global budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting. u2022 Ensures compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. u2022 Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities. u2022 Directs and oversees all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions, ensuring healthy financial management at business unit and subsidiary levels. u2022 Ensures credibility of the finance function by providing timely and accurate analyses of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts. u2022 Leads the company stock ownership program and policy in accordance with appropriate guidelines. u2022 Leads individuals in the CFO function including finance, accounting, procurement, payroll, treasury, tax, operational finance, and real estate. u2022 Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action. u2022 Works with the CEO and executives to identify potential new business opportunities/sources of revenue. u2022 Supports business units with financial modeling and scenario analysis. u2022 Manages and minimizes the companyu2019s financial risk exposure by developing and maintaining systems of internal controls, and ensuring that the finance, accounting and internal audit and risk management functions are operating effectively. u2022 Leads enterprise risk management and internal audit functions working with executive management and the Board of Directors. u2022 Leads and is accountable for all regulatory compliance and ethical financial practices. u2022 Identifies and evaluates M&A opportunities, joint ventures, and capital investments. u2022 Seeks and identifies opportunities to enhance the firmu2019s financial position and management of financial actions. Job Title: Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Group: COR Employment Type: Regular Minimum Qualifications: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. u2022 20+ years of related experience with 8 of those years in a direct executive capacity (i.e., CFO or similar capacity). Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary on business demands. Preferred Qualifications: u2022 Experience in a AEC environment (i.e., engineering and construction), and/or professional services industries is highly desirable u2022 Experience in a privately-held and/or employee owned organization in a AEC or professional services industry. u2022 Experience in the full life-cycle of federal and municipal contracting compliance, including knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and related regulatory frameworks within each entity. u2022 Current CPA certification. Background Check and Drug Testing Information: CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as u201cCDM Smithu201d) reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. Pay Range Minimum: $357,074 Pay Range Maximum: $731,994 Additional Compensation: All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position. Work Location Options: Fully Remote or Hybrid Work Options may be considered for successful candidate.
