The Central Office DC Power Installer Apprentice is required to take excellent care of our customers, build relationships, question things and take action, work hard, work smart, and enjoy the experience. This role will provide high-quality service incustomer technical spaces including data centers, mobile telephone switch centers, central office wire centers, and designated enterprise spaces.Central Office DC Power Installer ApprenticeO*NET-SOC CODE: 49-2022.00RAPIDS Code: 0076ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Physically placing, removing, or modifying non-working equipment such as;Iron work, frames/cabinets, equipment rack installationPower distribution frames (PBDs, BDFBs, FAP, etc…)Power plants (-48VDC, +24VDC, +130VDC and Ringing)Converters, Inverters, Batteries, Rectifiers,Physically routing the cables that supply AC and/or DC power and associated alarms under supervision Identify, label, measure and terminate cables that supply AC and/or DC power and associated alarms under supervision Conduct test and document performance characteristics under supervision Perform quality validation on in-process and completed workUse hydraulic and manual cutters and crimpersPerform testing using various types of equipment and methodologies as requiredPerform inventory of project materialInteract with all members of the organization; Installation, Engineering, Project ManagementPerforms other duties as requested by Lead / Supervisor / ManagerSAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Adhere to, promote, and accept personal responsibility for compliance to:Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health RegulationsIndustry Consensus StandardsCircet USA Injury and Illness Prevention Program ManualParticipate in job site safety/hazard analysisEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent required, technical or college degree preferredProficient use of Microsoft programs, IOS and/or Android applicationsAbility to read and understand technical drawings and documentation.Good mechanical aptitude including usage of basic power tools.Strong organization as well as verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated problem-solving skills; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
