Key statistics:950+ Consultants640+ Ph.D.s90+ Disciplines30+ Offices globallyWe are currently seeking a Forensic Pathologist - American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board-certified physician. Experience in trauma and disease processes is preferred. This individual will be a part of our Biomechanics Practice. In this role, you will often work as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role will include collaboration with scientists and engineers to provide detailed medical expert analysis and conclusions. Rendering medical expert opinions including, in part, injury causation analyses and evaluation of pathologic natural disease processesEvaluating complex events involving high severity and potential demiseDetailed review of provided antemortem and postmortem information, such as autopsy findings, medical records, radiology, photographs, laboratory tests, and investigative reportsClearly communicating medical findings and opinions to a variety of audiences, including technical experts, attorney clients, and lay stakeholdersPreparing detailed expert State and Federal reports and opinion disclosures as requiredParticipating in teleconferences with stakeholders and clearly verbally communicating findings to non-medical individualsTestifying as an expert medical witness in civil, state, and federal court proceedingsMaintaining continuing AMA Category 1 medical education creditsEffectively working in a multidisciplinary environment as a member of a teamAdhering to required internal quality assurance practices regarding project engagements and work productGraduation from a United States LCME accredited college or university with a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, or completed USMLE processBe currently and actively acknowledged as board-certified as described by the ABMSPreference for described and accepted qualifications by the ABMS in Forensic and Anatomic Pathology, Emergency Medicine, or a trauma-related specialtyHold a current, active, unrestricted state medical license from within the United StatesKnowledge base shall be commensurate with the position responsibilityExcellent written and oral communication skillsEffective and appropriate leadership skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of professionals, including engineers, scientists, technical managers, external clients, and administrative staffFamiliarity with medicolegal-type subject matter including wrongful death and negligence is desirableMedicolegal awareness involving pain and suffering is desirableA history of professional role-related testifying in trial and depositions is desirableOpen to full- or part-time considerationApplicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].To learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:value and encourage diversity, equity and inclusion across all facets of our firm. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent.
