HVAC Service Technician

Department: HVACReports To: HVAC Department ManagerLocation: GTA West - Mississauga, Burlington, Oakville, Milton, HamiltonEmployment Type: Full-Time (Direct Hire) Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Service Technician to join a growing mechanical services team of our client. This role involves diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential, multi-residential, and light commercial properties. The technician will be the face of the company on-site, delivering honest, high-quality work and building strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities HVAC System Servicing & Repairs Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, water heaters, boilers, and rooftop units. Perform seasonal maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. Conduct diagnostic testing and recommend appropriate service solutions. Customer Service Communicate clearly and respectfully with homeowners, tenants, property managers, and contractors. Educate clients on system performance, maintenance tips, and service options. Provide clear documentation on service work and parts used. Documentation & Reporting Accurately complete service records, maintenance logs, and repair reports. Use mobile dispatch software to update work orders, capture notes, and report job status. Provide feedback to the manager regarding recurring issues or equipment trends. Installation Support Assist with small HVAC installations (as needed), including retrofits and upgrades. Replace system components like motors, blowers, thermostats, compressors, and control boards. Safety & Compliance Follow company safety protocols and all applicable building codes and regulations. Use personal protective equipment and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Identify and report safety hazards or code violations. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 3 years of hands-on HVAC service experience. 313D (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic) or equivalent HVAC certification required. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical systems, gas lines, ductwork, and HVAC controls. Ability to work independently and troubleshoot under pressure. Professional, punctual, and committed to high standards of customer service. Working Conditions Regular travel across service areas (company vehicle provided). Physical work including climbing ladders, crawling in tight spaces, and lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs). Exposure to indoor/outdoor weather conditions year-round. Participation in rotating on-call schedule for emergency service calls.
