Controls Engineer

Description The Controls Engineer position is responsible for overseeing controls engineering project requirements involving control system & panel design, PLC & HMI programming, instrumentation, and start-up assistance. This position will design electrical layouts and automate APTu2019s custom products to exceed our customersu2019 needs. In this role, you will be part of a team that executes projects ranging from $100K u2013 $2M in automation scope while partnering with our Process Engineers to complete overall projects in the $500K- $50M+ range. Additional Skills & Qualifications u2022 Associate or bacheloru2019s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering OR Equivalent years of experience in automation. u2022 3+ years of experience in custom automation. u2022 An in-depth understanding of control systems, components, logic programming, experience with instrumentation and controls design, and PLC systems (specifically Rockwell). u2022 Strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude. u2022 Ability to work well with team members, clients, and subcontractors. u2022 Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer. u2022 Travel up to 30%. Preferred: u2022 Experience with AutoCAD and/or EPlan. u2022 Experience with Ignition and/or Wonderware. u2022 Experience within the food and beverage industry. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
