Essential Responsibilities: Answers, screens and processes a high volumeof calls in a professional manner. Utilizes and adheres to the phonescripts and guidelines for triaging calls. Asks appropriate questionsand uses independent judgment within scope of knowledge and authority todetermine the type of appointment, appropriate provider and urgencyneeded. Utilizes centralized scheduling system and software applicationsto schedule appointments. Verifies and updates patients' demographicinformation and transfers to registration for update as needed. Obtainsnecessary referrals for scheduled visit and documents in system.Document appropriate payer information, including worker's compensationand auto liability. Informs patient of necessary preparation forscheduled visit, including providing documents, films and notes fromother providers, required preparation and protocol for diagnostic testsand procedures. Coordinates and interprets multiple data sets requiredfor efficient scheduling of office visits, diagnostic tests andprocedures. Coordinates availability of professional services formaximum cost effective utilization of staff, space, equipment andoptimal timing for patients and providers. Addresses scheduling problemsand concerns with manager to resolve issues. Records and forwardsaccurate messages to providers and staff. Triages calls for urgentinformation or services to appropriate staff. Responds to requests forinformation or assistance within scope of knowledge and authority.Resolves and responds to provider email requests in an efficient andprofessional manner. Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GEDrequired. Associate's degree preferred. 1-3 years related workexperience required. Experience with computer systems required,including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applicationswhich may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access. PreferredQualifications: Call Center and/or telephone customer service experienceStrong typing skills 40+wpm. Knowledge of medical terminology Bilingualwritten and verbal communication skills
