Job Description

The Division of Gastrointestinal and General Surgery is a comprehensive team of surgeons focused on the areas of colorectal surgery, esophageal surgery, hernia surgery, treatment of pancreatic cancer and surgical nutrition. Our general surgeons support numerous clinical research trials and actively partner with scientists in the community to develop innovative surgical devices. The general surgery division also encompasses one of the largest residency programs in the country, as well as fellowships in minimally invasive surgery and colorectal surgery.This position is within the GI & General Surgery Division and will have a focused commitment to General Surgery and Hernia Repair / Abdominal Wall Reconstruction at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).Primary responsibilities at OHSU will be in General Surgery, with a focus on Hernia Repair and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction. This includes not only clinical work in the field, but also research and teaching. Additional responsibilities may include shared coverage of Emergency General Surgery (EGS). Applicants must be willing to participate in outreach activities with community hospitals including limited clinical care and quality initiatives.This applicant must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery. MIS Fellowship, and specialized training in complex hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction is encouraged.Oregon Health & Science University values a diverse and culturally competent workforce.
