Senior Information Security Specialist

The Senior Information Security Specialistconducts review of information systems to ensure that the management, operational, personnel, and technical controls are functioning effectively during all phases of the system lifecycle. This position is based on contract award and funding.Key Responsibilities:Identifying and evaluating technical and operational security risks, threats, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities associated with information systemsInformation system compliance with government standards and industry best practices, including NIST, OWASP, Common Criteria, DISA and SANS InstituteWorking in Agile development environmentsInformation security practices within the federal and/or state governmentsPrevious hands-on technical experience in networking, system administration and development and utilizing Splunk for audit log review and system alerting.The position is located at a government facility in Clarksburg, WV and typically requires work to be performed onsite, but may allow for hybrid work schedule. The government has established policies for on-site vs hybrid work which varies across divisions and contracts. Staff are obligated to adhere to these and other government policies and react accordingly as policies change over time.
