About The Job The Red Hat Consulting team is adding a Consultant to assist in delivering solutions that solve customer business challenges, through hands-on technical implementation and enablement of recommended practices. In this position, you will play a key role as a promoter of adopting Red Hat's solutions for our customers by using your technical expertise and interpersonal skills. Youu2019ll need to have a balance of solid technical experience, awareness of open source, a baseline understanding of business processes, and the ability to solve issues at the enterprise level. What You Will Do u2022 Support customers in building enterprise technology infrastructures that are scalable, optimally managed, and adaptable to technological improvements using Red Hat technological solutions u2022 Continuously learn, grow, develop, and adapt to new skills and technologies u2022 Travel frequently to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunication, and institutional customers After joining Red Hat, you will go through an intensive training program on Kubernetes, and OpenShift technologies and related DevOps and GitOps topics. Here's how your skill set will evolve and what you'll learn during your first year in the role: At 2 months, be prepared to join a project team by acquiring the following: u2022 Understanding of how to build production-ready container and virtualization platforms, integrated with existing enterprise systems u2022 Knowledge of how to deploy source code into running, scalable containers and virtual machines in automated fashion at enterprise scale u2022 Practical experience with our offerings Within 6 months, be ready to deliver a project by attaining the following: u2022 Successful, collaborative delivery of customer requirements using Red Hat OpenShift u2022 Knowledge of how a customer use case can be developed into a project plan and how those requirements align with Red Hatu2019s technologies u2022 Understanding of how Red Hatu2019s technologies can transform software delivery (DevOps/GitOps) practices at large organizations Within 12 months, begin to demonstrate technical leadership by accomplishing the following: u2022 Successfully implementing complex, large-scale container platform solutions in challenging customer environments u2022 Helping other consultants learn DevOps/GitOps paired with container technologies u2022 Contributing lessons learned, best practices, and how-tos to our internal and external communities of practice u2022 Applying new technologies, frameworks, or methodologies to container platforms What You Will Bring u2022 Experience delivering successful modern cloud platform consulting engagements u2022 Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud solutions, including Red Hat's OpenShift Container Platform u2022 Experience configuring cloud technologies, including container management and orchestration u2022 Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes u2022 Experience with IT automation platforms and their concepts; Ansible is a plus u2022 Experience with technologies including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure a plus u2022 An intermediate-level understanding of technologies related to core IT systems and concepts such as infrastructure, networking, storage, and security is a plus u2022 Experience across one or more vertical industry areas u2022 Ability to understand stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work u2022 Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders u2022 Applied knowledge and experience working in agile, scrum, and DevOps teams u2022 Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills u2022 Demonstrated track record of working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives u2022 Applied knowledge and experience working in agile, scrum, and DevOps teams u2022 Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills u2022 Willingness to travel to customer locations about 30-40 weeks per year on average across North America u2022 Degree in computer science or a technical discipline #LI-REMOTE #LI-AL2 The salary range for this position is $94,550.00 - $151,170.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Pay Transparency Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hatu2019s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
