The ideal candidate will bring a strong actuarial background in executive lines pricing, knowledge of industry and market dynamics, and a passion for advancing pricing sophistication. We are looking for a proactive self-starter who can understand evolving business needs and provide actionable insights that empower leadership to focus on broader strategic priorities.In this role, you will play a key part in pricing activities for Cyber, Tech E&O, Professional Liability, and Management Liability lines of business, collaborating closely with the leadership teams for each. Your primary responsibilities will include enhancing pricing sophistication, monitoring portfolio performance, and developing strategies to drive profitable growth.This position reports to the Actuarial AVP for the division and provides an opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment with the benefits of a smaller organization backed by the security, stability, and opportunity of a large conglomerate, Fairfax - one of the largest P&C insurers in the United States.What you will do:Perform profitability studies, rate monitoring, and trend analysesDevelop, maintain, review, update, and enhance rating modelsAssist in the planning and execution of pricing and underwriting strategiesAnalyze book results to help identify outliers in performance and opportunities for growthLeverage vendor models to monitor Cyber aggregations and tail riskParticipate in the development of new products and provide due diligence on new business opportunitiesProduce relevant monthly/quarterly/annual reports as requiredTrain underwriters on pricing and benchmarking toolsOperate as an effective team member by supporting colleagues and contributing in the delivery and achievement of overall team and business objectivesBecome a technical expert and trusted advisor for underwriters/management on actuarial and insurance-related mattersKeep up-to-date on industry best practices, new initiatives, market trends, and changes in regulatory requirementsSupport the centralized regulatory services group as needed for product initiativesWhat you will bring to C&F:Experience in Executive Risk lines (Cyber, D&O, and/or E&O) strongly preferred6+ years of P&C Actuarial Pricing experienceBS in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, or related majorACAS/FCAS credentials preferredProficiency in MS Office products as well as SQL and RStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and in writingThe ability to clearly explain actuarial results and drivers to business partnersAbility to work efficiently both independently and in a group settingAbility to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlinesCompliance with all C&F policies and proceduresPositive “do what it takes” attitudeCompetitive compensation packageGenerous 401K employer matchEmployee Stock Purchase plan with employer matchingGenerous Paid Time OffExcellent benefits that go beyond health, dental & vision. Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $95,600.00 to a maximum of $179,600.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range.
