3rd Shift Extrusion Operator

A GREAT Muskego Company needs - 3rd Shift Machine Operator! $20/HR *TOP Benefits* Hours: 3rd shift - 11:00 pm - 7am Monday - Friday Summary: In this position, you will set up and run extrusion equipment. Duties: Study and follow set-up and run sheets for each job. Select nozzles, spacers, wires, and brackets. Adjust, calibrate, and set up equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature, and general operation. Set stops or guides to cut profile to specified length per customer order. Weigh raw materials and color mixes as specified for each job; add mixes, colors, and catalysts to the extruding machine. Operate machine and set controls to regulate vacuum, air pressure, sizing rings, temperature, and speed. May need to perform minor machine maintenance such as lubricating machines or cleaning dies. Communicate with team members to troubleshoot equipment issues or malfunctions and resolve them quickly. Operates and sets up all downstream equipment and tears down as needed. May help in the packaging of the finished product, as well as cleaning up scrap and taking it to grinding machine bins. Complete all required paperwork Take hourly readings of machine gauges and document results on run sheets. Follow all Company safety rules and policies including 5S metrics Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent 1-3 years of experience in extrusion Must be able to read blueprints Must have a working knowledge of measuring devices and this could include calipers and micrometers since you will be responsible for inspecting your work to ensure adherence to customer specifications Must have the ability to safely climb an approved safety ladder to change raw material supply lines. Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, grasp, clutch, manipulate, or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Anything over 70 pounds requires the assistance of another employee or lift truck. Vision abilities required by this job include close, color, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is often exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, or airborne (plastic) particles. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The temperature in the summer can be as warm as 100 degrees.
