As a PeopleReady associate you'll benefit from: Next-day pay for many of our open positions The choice of long-term positions for steady work or short-term positions for extra cash The convenience of applying for and accepting jobs right from our mobile app, JobStack Text “READY” to 81555 to download JobStack and get started today Pay Rate: The pay rate for this job is $17 - $17 / hour What you'll be doing as a Harvest Grain Helper: Assist in all areas unloading, loading, and transferring of grain products which may include but not be limited to truck and rail operations Operation of conveyance equipment utilized in the shipping, receiving, and transferring of grain and grain products and the associated safety systems of the equipment Maintains positive customer relations at the first point of contact with the producer Actions and personal appearance project a favorable image of the company Understands grain quality and grain conditioning Utilizes best management practices for inventory control Responsible for the safe and efficient use of materials and machines Maintains equipment, facilities, and other company assets safely, neatly, and professionally Performs proper grain grading and blending practices Assists in maintaining records and reports necessary to comply with government requirements Assists Location Manager in operational expense control Supports other locations and departments as needed Inspects handling equipment and grain inventory at varying heights using ladders Ability to answer the phone and greet walk-in customers Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures as they apply Occasionally Reach Outward Frequently Over 100 lbs. Occasionally Reach Above Shoulder Frequently Climb Frequently Push/Pull Crawl Occasionally 12 lbs. or less Frequently Steady work during harvest season in september, guarantee OT, working seven days a week, lifting, standing shoveling emptying grain trucks outside work Available shifts: Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day), Weekends Job requirements: Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent; and at least two years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience to demonstrate industry knowledge, computer proficiency, problem-solving skills, and verbal and written communication skills Functional Competencies Proven professional communication, persuasion, and customer service skills Proven team-building skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Demonstrated planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills Ability to use the computer and “attention to detail” skills and use the computer to enhance business processes Core Competencies Demonstrated core competencies, including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development Other Requirements Ability to work hours other than those considered normal at various times throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record Frequently works in extreme weather conditions, including (Heat, Cold, Wet, etc.) Occasionally works at elevated heights and confined spaces Frequently lifts between 51-70 lbs Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training related to the position's requirements Physical Abilities Lift/Carry Stand Frequently 10 lbs. or less Frequently Walk Frequently 11-20 lbs.
