Mold Shop Floater

Steel DynamicsMold shop employees are responsible for the maintenance and refurbishment of all manufacturing equipment used at the caster. This position is an entry level position in the Mold and Segment Shop. Employees will be trained on all safety and maintenance procedures. The position starts as a Monday through Friday daytime schedule with the expectation to eventually work a 4 on - 4 off swing shift. Shift assignments may change often in order to meet the needs of the shop.Work with caster personnel to diagnose and fix equipment issuesRepair and return molds and segments to peak operating condition after being removed from the casterComplete rebuilding of segments; roll assembly installation and alignment, installation of grease and water-cooling systemsPerform preventative maintenance procedures on casting equipmentAlign molds & segments, change rolls, rebuild end frames, etc.Document all work performedRequiredSafety conscienceSelf-motivated work attitude and attention to detailAbility to work independently and follow instructionsPrevious mechanical maintenance experienceAble to read and interpret mechanical drawingsCapable of using precision measurement tools such as dial indicators, micrometers, and calipersExperience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other mobile equipmentStrong communication skillsSkilled in fabricating, torching and weldingPreferredDemonstrate troubleshooting skills and leadership abilitiesDemonstrate basic computer skillsSteel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
