A lovely family currently based in Locust Valley, Long Island, is seeking a weekend live-in (during shifts) nanny/housekeeper. The primary care is for a 4-year-old boy, but there are two older daughters in the home. The family will be based on the Upper East Side of NYC next spring/summer. The candidate can be based in NYC for now, and the family will pay for the commute to Locust Valley. The schedule will be: arriving Friday evening, Saturday 7am to 7pm, and Sunday 7am to 5/6pm. Flexibility with exact hours is required, and a guarantee of 20 hours per weekend will be given. The accommodations provided are a bedroom ensuite in Locust Valley and a bedroom ensuite with a small kitchenette in NYC.Include, but are not limited to:ChildcareLooking after all childcare requirements, including dressing, meals, homework, bath time, bedtime, etc.Efficiently managing weekend schedulesOrganizing play dates, activities, and outingsDisciplining the children when appropriate in a manner consistent with the parents’ philosophyTeaching and promoting excellent mannersKnowing when to step in and step out Restocking necessary childcare itemsHousehold Cleaning/Day-to-Day ManagementCleaning and tidying throughout the house: vacuuming, mopping, dusting and wiping surfaces, cleaning bathrooms, wiping windows, etc.Looking after the plants and flowers throughout the propertyLiaise with the executive assistant/family office as neededReport damage, stains, burnt-out bulbs, or unusual activity to the executive assistant/family officeAssisting during events (birthdays and special occasions)SuppliesOrdering and shopping for supplies and toiletries as neededRecording and filing petty cash and credit card receipts efficientlyMail/DeliveriesSorting mail and opening Unpacking and putting away household itemsLaundry & Clothing CareAssist with the laundry, ironing/steamingOrganizing dry cleaning as appropriate, and arranging collections and drop-offs (taking to dry cleaners as needed)Contractors & VendorsGreeting guests, couriers and tradesmen at the door and overseeing appointments when necessaryReporting anything in the home that is not in good working order to the executive assistant/family officeSupporting the Family & TeamEnsuring all guests are always well looked afterPreparing for family travel, assisting with packing and unpacking Spending weekends in the Hamptons as required by the familyProvide basic care for the family dog, including daily feeding, ensuring fresh water is available, letting the dog out for regular bathroom breaks, as well as taking him to vet appointments when required.CookingWhere required, cooking/preparing simple meals for the familyMaking snacks for the child.Purchasing groceries and the necessary ingredients for these Tidying the kitchen after meal preparation and ensuring all food prep (i.e. equipment, ingredients, etc.) is stored in the appropriate location and nothing is left out.Minimizing waste and recycling where possibleReliable and flexibleHigh attention to detailVery organizedGreat communication skillsLongevity seekingMust be able to take feedbackTake the initiative and be proactiveTakes pride in the work and service they provideLegally able to work within the U.S.Required to be flexible to work between Locust Valley (Long Island) and ManhattanNot required, but a major bonus if the candidate is willing and able to travel domesticallyProven similar childcare and housekeeping work experience for a HNW private residence (at least three years)English proficiency (read, write, and speak)Must love childrenPet-Friendly - Family has a dogCPR/First Aid certified (willing to get certified)Must know how to swimBonus if candidate has a valid driver’s license and is comfortable driving (not a requirement, but ideal to have; would have access to a house vehicle)Excellent referencesWillingness to undergo background checks and sign a non-disclosure agreementRate is commensurate with experience.
