Roadway Engineer, Project Manager

Kimley-Horn's Fort lauderdale, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 6+ years of experience to join their Roadway team! This is not a remote position.Collaborate with the design team to develop detailed and efficient roadway designs, ensuring compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and project specificationsAssist in the development of project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for roadway infrastructure projectsSelect appropriate materials and prepare engineering specifications for road construction and maintenance projectsCreate alignment and geometric designs for roads, intersections, and other transportation facilities, considering safety and accessibility for all usersObtain necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities for roadway projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsProvide technical support during construction, including reviewing plans, addressing design issues, and overseeing project progressConduct inspections and quality control checks to ensure the implementation of design standards and specificationsIntegrate environmental considerations into roadway design, considering factors such as stormwater management and environmental impact assessmentsAssist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedulesThis is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projectsYou will flourish on both building meaningful internal and external professional relationshipsYou will work closely and collaboratively with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors6+ years of relevant engineering design experienceProfessional Engineering (P.E.) LicenseProficiency in using industry-standard design software such as Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3DStrong understanding of civil engineering principles, roadway design standards, and traffic engineering principlesDemonstrated ability to analyze complex engineering problems and develop effective solutionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and conciselyA collaborative and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to work effectively as part of a teamStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlinesCommitment to staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in roadway engineeringAt Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
