Our team currently consists of more than 300 individuals working throughout the United States to accelerate and simplify solar deployment.We are seeking a motivated entry-level Diesel Mechanic/Maintenance Technician to join us at Ampacity and grow their career while maintaining and servicing our fleet of diesel-powered pile drivers and related heavy equipment. This role offers hands-on learning opportunities combining diesel mechanical work with general maintenance duties in a supportive team environment. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, safety-conscious, and committed to developing their skills while keeping our equipment running at peak performance to support our field operations.Pay Range: $15-$16 per hourPerform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel-powered pile drivers, fleet vehicles, and heavy equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systemsComplete Gayk PMI (Preventative Maintenance Inspection) work orders and learn to maintain accurate digital records using computer systemsAssist with diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues, supporting emergency repair requests both in-shop and on-siteConduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and safety inspections under supervisionSupport general building maintenance duties including plumbing, lighting, HVAC, and facility repairs as directedAssist field operations through additional tasks such as packing orders and shipping supplies to crewsTravel to job sites when required to support equipment repairs and maintenance with experienced techniciansMaintain compliance with all safety regulations and company standards while developing independence and teamwork skills1-3 years' experience working with diesel engines, heavy equipment, or automotive repair (vocational training or apprenticeship experience welcome)Must possess a valid driver's license with Clean MVR and willingness to travel for repairsStrong work ethic with eagerness to learn and attention to detailAbility to lift 45 pounds unassisted and up to 150 pounds (assisted)Good reading, writing, and communication skillsWillingness to learn computer systems for digital work orders and maintenance recordsMechanical aptitude and interest in developing diesel, hydraulic, and electrical system knowledgeASE certification or willingness to pursue certification an assetPhysical ExpectationsIndoor warehouse facility with regular exposure to dust, fumes, odors, varying temperatures, and machinery noise.Fast-paced environment with heavy machinery operation including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.Physical ExpectationsIntermittent periods of continuous physical exertion including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting materials up to 50+ pounds.Ability to bend, squat, reach, push, and pull equipment throughout the facility from floor to overhead storage areas.?
