Materials Management Buyer

The Materials Management Buyer places orders according to stock needs and routine purchases. They are responsible for maintaining acceptable and accurate inventory levels in the main storeroom and for routine purchases. They report and resolve shortages, overage, out of stock, backorders, manufacture b/o, to vendor. They also participates in annual inventory and fill in during the absence of Materials Coordinator and/or Materials Manager. We are located at 1065 Bucks Lake Road, Quincy, CA 95971Compensation Philosophy: We have 6 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate staff for 6 years of relevant experience.Compensation Range: $20.69- $ 26.41 / hourRegular part-time, benefitedWork schedule is Monday-Friday working 6 hours a day.Experience:Minimum of one (1) year experience as a buyer in a hospital setting preferred or in similar field.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.Excellent public relations skills and ability to communicate with others.Able to work independently with minimal supervision.Place orders according to stock demands and routine orders as needed. Non-routine upon a signed and approved Purchase Order Requisition.Maintain and scan completed purchase orders in the Materials shared file.Keep track of stock supply and turnover of inventory in order to establish optimum holding costs. Rotate stock paying close attention to expiration datesFollow up on any outstanding orders, expedites and informs department. Consults with Manager on any out of stock supplies for alternative.Report and resolve shortage, overages and backorders to Vendor. Prepare any packages that needs to be returned.
