The Member Service Representative supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Member Service Representative delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants by responding to member and guest needs, promoting memberships and programs, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.This is an evergreen role, meaning we are always accepting applications for this position due to ongoing hiring needs. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retentionConducts interviews and/or cause-driven tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; handles membership applicationsBuilds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCAHandles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issuesApplies all YMCA policies, guidelines and protocols dealing with member servicesHandles registrations for Y programs and takes paymentsAttends mandatory trainings and meetingsPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum age 16 or older, requiredExcellent interpersonal and problem-solving skillsAbility to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the communityPrevious customer service, sales, or related experienceBasic knowledge of computersAbility to consistently work scheduled shifts and attend staff meetingsAbility to work in a high paced environment, handling multiple tasks concurrentlyEmployee Assistance ProgramRetirement ContributionUSD $11.83 - USD $11.83 /Hr.
