We are seeking a Student Radiologic Technologist (PRN), internally referred to as our Student Rad Tech at Riverview Regional Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Student Radiologic Technologist, you will learn and gain practical experience in all aspects of radiologic technology working independently of a technologist. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.Shift’s Available: VariableEmployment Type: Per Diem (PRN)Hours: VariedThis is an entry-level position designed to help those currently in a Radiology Technologist Program, if you are wanting to learn from the best, Riverview Regional Medical Center is here to help your career.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):Perform Diagnostic Radiographic or other procedures according to department protocols, working independently of a Radiologic Technologist Learn to perform a variety of radiographic examinations, including X-rays and fluoroscopyUnderstand how to evaluate image quality, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain equipment performance to meet established standardsGain knowledge of how to gauge if X-ray equipment is functioning properly and that images meet quality standards, which may involve performing equipment checks, calibrations, and troubleshooting as neededInteract with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure their comfort and safety during X-ray examinations with assistant from a Rad TechMaintain accurate records of X-ray procedures, including patient information, images, and relevant medical historyEncouraged to participate in professional development activities, such as attending conferences, workshops, and seminars, to stay current with advancements in radiologic technology and healthcare practicesOperate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images, learn proper techniques for radiation protection, shielding, and monitoring to ensure safe and effective imaging proceduresEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING:High school diploma or equivalent requiredCurrently attending an accredited health care educational program for radiologic technologyMeet state requirements for exemption from licensing to operate x-ray equipment. Documentation of state exemption required in personnel fileCompletion of their first year curriculum requirementsCurrent BCLS (AHA)At least one year of clinical experience in the radiology technologist program requiredProficient computer skills#LI-AZ1Per DiemVariableCompany is an equal employment opportunity employer.
