Financial Reporting Lead

Job SummaryThe Financial Reporting Lead will work closely with department management, senior accountants and financial analysts to perform key accounting functions such as recurring STAT and GAAP close processes, account reconciliations, and preparation of SEC filings. This position will also be involved in recommending process improvements and supporting financial reporting and analysis within the department and across the organization. This role reports to the Controller. The Financial Reporting Lead will be expected to gain an understanding of and participate in a range of accounting and financial reporting processes. This position is located at our corporate office is Marietta, PA. Preferred candidates will reside in areas surrounding the Marietta, PA office. Responsibilities and DutiesAssist in performing procedures to ensure accurate and complete financial records are prepared and maintained for all activities of the companyPrepare and review general ledger entries Prepare and assist in review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements on a STAT and GAAP basis, as applicableAssist in preparation of required Form 10-Q and Form 10-K filings Prepare and ensure timely submissions of regulatory filings with insurance departmentsAssist in performing and designing regular control procedures to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-OxleyProvide timely and accurate records to internal and external auditorsCoordinate with external auditors during the annual audit processIdentify and recommend improvements to accounting and financial reporting processes, systems and procedures to support efficiency and accuracyActively participate in project teams as assignedQualifications and SkillsMinimum of three years of accounting and financial management experience required, at least five years preferredInsurance industry experience preferredBachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field requiredCPA Designation preferredStarting Pay: The pay range for this position is $105,00 to $115,000 annually. The specific offer will vary based on an applicant's education, qualifications, professional experience, skills, abilities, and any applicable designations/certifications. The posted pay range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience. The pay range may also be adjusted based on an applicant's geographic location.The base pay is just one component of Donegal's total compensation package for employees. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
