Amazingly Easy.”Our Claims Representative summer internship program offers interns the opportunity to work closely with claims professionals to learn and assist in all aspects of workers’ compensation claims handling. Assist in the investigation of workers’ compensation claims by interviewing injured workers, witnesses, and policyholders to verify coverage and determine compensability and benefits dueAssist in calculating and establishing timely financial reserves and proactively manage reserve adequacy throughout claim lifecycleAssist in recording and coding injured worker demographics, job information and accident information in company’s claims management system and filing necessary forms with state regulatory agenciesAssist in issuing timely payments to injured workers, medical providers and service vendorsAssist in coordinating and managing medical treatment of injured workers to ensure timely rehabilitationGain knowledge and demonstrates an understanding of the Workers’ Compensation Act, adjudication process, and regulatory compliance framework in assigned jurisdictionsIdentifies and manages subrogation, Second Injury Fund and joint coverage recovery opportunitiesRegularly communicates claim activity and status updates to policyholders, injured workers and other interested parties in a professional, thoughtful and tactful mannerAttends and participates in claim file reviews with management and defense attorneysContinuously strives to improve our product and business results through innovationCore CompetenciesActive LearningCoachableActive ListeningCritical ThinkingSkills/QualificationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal and relationship building skillsExceptional time management and organization skillsStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to work independently and strategically problem solveAbility to diplomatically manage conflictAbility to develop relationships within the organization and work effectively across departmentsStrong discretion and integrity in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive informationDetail orientedTravel RequirementsA low level of domestic U.S. travel may be required (up to 5% of time)EducationStudents pursuing a Bachelors’ degree in any major will be consideredSponsorship not Offered for this Role
