Kimley-Horn's Orlando, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Substation Physical Engineer with 8+ years of experience to join their Power Delivery team! This is not a remote position.Perform conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation Physical/Electrical design for utilities/substations (including basic layout, electrical arrangement, one line, three-line drawings, plan-section, grounding, AC and DC system drawings)Perform engineering studies and calculationsPerform Quality Control reviews on substation physical design projectsAssume the role of technical lead on projects with limited guidanceCreate and review bill of materials for substation physical projectsDevelop and review proposals, and scopes of work for smaller substation physical projectsPlan and lead client meetings (or meeting sections) relating to physical design, as requiredProvide support for continued professional development of less experienced engineers in team, including technical guidance, and recommending training needs to the groupPossess excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with the internal teams and clients to meet project objectivesDevelop leadership skills in preparation for future roles on the team8+ years of relevant engineering experience in Substation Physical DesignProfessional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projectsProficiency in using industry-standard design software such as AutoCADExperience with grounding studies/lightning protection and lighting studiesExperience with bus calculationExperience with CDEGSAt Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
