We offer a competitive compensation package.Job SummaryThis position is responsible for analyzing design narratives, conceptual and schematic documents, specifications, RFPs, and other documentation to develop detailed estimates and cost models for electrical construction projects. This position also is responsible for electrical design on design-build projects in the industrial and commercial markets. This position contributes to the success of the company by effectively and efficiently developing electrical designs and project estimates that reflect P1s competitiveness, expertise, and ability to provide quality services and construction.Responsibilities and Duties Participates in pre-bid meetings and bid strategy meetings when requested.Reviews course construction plans and/or renderings and anticipates the lighting, power and specialty systems well enough to develop construction cost putes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists.Creates and uses models in evaluating costs associated with alternative or value engineering designs.Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.Promotes the companys capabilities and expertise when dealing directly with key decision makers in the owner or general contracting companies.Coordinates with other P1 associates to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates.Provides improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.Provides electrical design and produces construction drawings on design-build projects, primarily in the commercial and industrial markets.Qualifications and SkillsEducation: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Meets one of the following education requirements:Bachelors degree in a construction or architectural/electrical engineering related discipline, ORAt least five years of electrical construction/service field trade experience/training/education, OREquivalent combination of the above.Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred but not required.Experience: At least five years of experience in electrical systems design in commercial and/or industrial markets. Experience performing electrical construction estimates is preferred.Experience in utilizing AutoCAD and Revit to produce construction drawings is preferred.Experience in using estimating software is preferred.Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be able to meet P1 qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid drivers license. Must have access to drive a well maintained vehicle. Must have up to date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles.
