Childcare Group Teacher

The Childcare Group Teacher is a vital role in the YMCA Before and After School Care team. They will be a part of an on-site team organizing and implementing program activities and developing skills for children in kindergarten to 5thgrade.Part-time, Morning and/or Afternoon shifts available.Locations: Kingston City Schools, Rondout Valley, New Paltz, and Highland School DistrictsHourly pay rate: $15.00-$18.00This is an evergreen role, meaning we are always accepting applications for this position due to ongoing hiring needs.Supervises a group of childrenPlans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA valuesAdheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standardsAttends staff meetings and trainingsFollows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergenciesMaintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactionsAll staff are required to participate in trainings to reduce the risk of child abuse to understand their abuse risk management responsibilitiesHigh School diploma or equivalent; one year or more of college preferredAssociates in Child Development, Recreation or related field preferredPrevious experience working with children preferably in a childcare settingExperience preferred in one or more of the following areas: art, helping with homework, songs/music, skits, sports, and recreational games, etc1 year experience working with children less than 13 years of age requiredCPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training required to be completed along with other trainings after hireRetirement contribution, once eligibleYMCA MembershipPaid Sick TimeUSD $15.00 - USD $18.00 /Hr.
