We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers’ missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between.ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:As the Tool Crib Attendant for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO) located in Cullman, AL, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for managing and issuing tools, equipment, and supplies required for the production process. Duties include inventory records, ensuring tools are in good working condition, and organizing the tool crib for efficient access. The role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of the tools and equipment used in aerospace machining. Our products are used in high performance sensing systems for targeting and acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are hardened for the battlefield environment.Representative Duties:Assembles and organizes tool kits for machinists and technicians, ensuring all necessary tools are available and in good working conditionMonitors tool inventory levels, performing regular stock counts, and maintains accurate records of tool usage and availabilityCoordinates with vendors to manage inventory levels, ensuring timely replenishment of tools and materialsInspects and maintains tools, arranging for repairs or replacements as necessary to ensure optimal performance and safetyIdentifies process flow improvements and implementsPrepares material forecasts as requestedInterface periodically with supply chain or suppliers on delivery issues and problem resolutionOversight user of the VMI SystemAccurately determine min and max quantities required for all tooling (VMI and purchased in stock tools and products)Decision making efforts regarding best tooling at the lowest cost and highest availability by analyzing available dataMaintain good working relationships with all vendors who supply the required products for shop floor useKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office toolsGrasps and applies new information quicklyAbility to effectively represent functional area on program teamsProficient in inventory management software and VMI systemsStrong organizational and time management skillsKnowledge of safety protocols and standards in the aerospace industryAbility to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyOur Commitment to You:An exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning a developmentResearch oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s securityFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)Competitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health and wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and moreSee more at com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefitsWorkplace Options:This position is fully on-site.While on-site, you will be a part of the Cullman, AL facility.This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
