With deep knowledge of company tools, rating methods and business unit goals, this individual serves as the backbone of the underwriting team easing efficient workflow to ensure internal and external deadlines are duly met. Knowledge of state rules a plus. With a strong ability to market face externally and manage agency communication effectively, this individual truly helps create ability on the underwriter’s desk by taking on various tasks, both process and underwriting related. Competent in all phases of the following areas: Business Unit specific product lines and coverage, knowledge of underwriting support processes/procedures/workflows, and an awareness of local Business Unit Strategy. In addition, manages relationships with agents & wholesalers, as well as peers and business partners. This position may need to be available for agency visits. Responsible for managing assigned work and resolving potentially conflicting priorities in collaboration with their leader.What you will do for C&F:Accountability/ResponsibilityResponsible for active partnerships with Underwriters to proactively support the underwriting desk and account portfolio for renewals and new business policiesExamines documents such as application forms, inspection reports, insurance maps and past claims to determine degree of risk from such factors as applicant financial standing, business operations, loss experience, and value and condition of property, inventory and equipment Accountable for identifying/gathering the relevant account information required to quote and/or bind the policy Customer ServiceManage and prioritize the end-to-end process within SLAs for all policy/quote set up, ensuring Underwriters are kept informed in a prompt mannerCommunicates with brokers/agencies, wholesalers, and internal departments. (i.e., researches and resolves issues, responds to inquiries and questions).Coordinate with Operations Specialist to update internal systems and complete rating.Prepare quotes for UW by reviewing exposures and experience rating, updating account information, rates and adjusts the price as requestedProvides information for regulatory compliance (i.e., statutory filings, proof of insurance, certificates)Participates in projects/assignments as requestedEnsures accurate and timely servicing and billing of accountsPerform other duties as assigned. AccuracyManages the accuracy of account documentation (i.e., quote proposals, agreement letters, reinsurance contracts, collateral agreements, policy changes, endorsements, cancellations, etc.)Complete Peer Review of work that are used in the underwriting/pricing exhibits (i.e., exposures, experience rating, profit and loss analysis, expense models, etc.)What you will bring to C&F:3+ years insurance experience related to rating, quoting, and issuance of P&C Insurance is preferred.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required Proficient in interpreting Loss informationProficient in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, and OutlookStrong property knowledge a plusIndependently able to assign class codes, handle bureau criticisms Continuous improvement mindsetDemonstrates ability to access a situation promptly and take appropriate actionAble to meet standards set by manager and able to set high standards for selfCapable of working across complex organizationsEffective communication skills, both in person and virtualComfortable with changeDemonstrates ability to perform in a business professional manner with a positive attitudeDemonstrates the ability and drive to seek development opportunitiesAbility to follow guidelines and best practices, and innovate, with an emphasis on quality and customer serviceCompetitive compensation packageGenerous 401K employer matchEmployee Stock Purchase plan with employer matchingGenerous Paid Time OffExcellent benefits that go beyond health, dental & vision. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $43,800.00 to a maximum of $82,400.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range.
