RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area. The RRT is a clinically competent, certified or registered professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for patients of all ages ranging from neonates to geriatrics through the process of carrying out modalities prescribed by an advanced practice provider. The individual isexpected to effectively and professionally interacting with patients, family members, and other health care team members while maintaining RiverView Health standards of behavior.Primary responsibilities:Perform diagnostic tests to assess patients' respiratory conditionAdminister advanced respiratory treatments, perform assessments, and monitor patient response to ensure effective careDemonstrates skill and judgment in emergency situationsCollaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomesApplication and management of respiratory care equipment, such as: ventilator, BiPAP, CPAP, and EKG as per protocolAssist in maintenance of equipment, tools, supplies, and inventory as per policyDocument and complete billing according to current standards and policiesEnsures proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and patient identification techniques to maintain safety and compliance with infection control standardsIdentify patient’s needs (physical, cultural, and psychosocial) and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy to individual differencesProvides guidance and education to patients and their familiesAdhere to ethical and legal standardsEnsure continued competence and updated field knowledgeComply with regulatory standards of the MN Medical Board of Practice, National Board for Respiratory Care, American Association for Respiratory CareWhat are we looking for:Individuals who have a positive impact in their work environmentStrong communication and patient education skillsMinimum(s):Current State of Minnesota license in Respiratory Therapy (RT), which must be in good standing is requiredAssociate or Bachelor Degree in Respiratory Therapy is requiredCurrent American Heart BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required. If not currently certified training will be provided and certification must be obtained within 4 months from date of hire.Preferred(s): Experience - 1+ year of Inpatient experience, 1+ year of Emergency Department experience
