With a reputation for excellence, we provide high-quality tutoring and a vibrant, welcoming environment that inspires learning and growth.Position OverviewStudyville in Baton Rouge is seeking a dedicated Dyslexia Specialist to provide specialized literacy intervention and support to K-8 students with dyslexia and related reading challenges. The role requires the ability to create an engaging, supportive learning environment that builds student confidence alongside skill development. Work EnvironmentThis is a part-time M-T positionFlwxible scheduleOnsite reporting to 10156 Perkins Rowe ste 170, Baton Rouge, LA1099 Contract positionWhat We OfferCompetitive hourly rate: $70/hr - $75/hrCareer advancement opportunitiesDirect Student Services Provide individualized and small group instruction using evidence-based, structured literacy approaches to students with dyslexia and reading difficulties Implement systematic, explicit, and multisensory teaching methods to address phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension Design and deliver lessons tailored to each student's specific learning profile and needsAssessment and Progress Monitoring Conduct initial assessments to identify students' strengths and areas of need in reading and language processing Administer ongoing progress monitoring tools to track student growth and adjust instruction accordingly Prepare detailed progress reports for parents and collaborate with referring professionals as neededFamily Partnership Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, strategies for home support, and educational recommendations Provide guidance to families on understanding dyslexia and advocating for their children's educational needsProfessional Collaboration Work collaboratively with other educational professionals, including classroom teachers, educational therapists, and other specialists when appropriate Maintain professional documentation and session notes in accordance with best practices Required Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field Orton-Gillingham certification strongly preferred (Associate Level or higher), or comparable training in structured literacy approaches such as Wilson Reading System, Barton, or similar programs Minimum of 2 years of direct experience providing literacy intervention to K-8 students with dyslexia or reading difficulties Deep understanding of the science of reading and structured literacy principlesExperience with assessment tools and progress monitoring for reading developmentStrong communication skills and ability to work independently Reliable transportation and ability to work at our Baton Rouge locationPreferred Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) or similar advanced certificationExperience working with diverse learners and various learning differences beyond dyslexia Familiarity with assistive technology tools for students with dyslexia Additional training in related areas such as executive function, written expression, or math disabilities Studyville LLC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.'USD $70.00 - USD $75.00 /Hr.
