Senior Academic Advisor - Vick Advising Excellence ...

Serve as the primary point of contact for and manage the day-to-day maintenance of academic advising tools such as the Message two-way texting platform, registration and progress-to-degree dashboards, and the Student Program Database. Work closely with technology vendors, campus users, and other stakeholders to support the long-term improvement of these tools.Provide academic advising related to major exploration and internal transfer planning for undergraduate students from all schools and colleges who are considering changing majors. Provide Core Curriculum and Flags advising for students with complex general education issues.Develop training and best practices for users of these advising tools to encourage data-driven decisions and to promote strategic advising interventions. Work with the Director to oversee the strategy for wider adoption of these advising tools among the academic advising community.Maintain working knowledge of academic advising and participate in professional development through conference attendance and research inquiries related to academic advising.Serve as an active and engaged member of the Vick Advising Excellence Center, supporting the teams comprehensive efforts to serve the academic advising community and transitional/exploratory student populations with other duties as assigned.
