Job Description

Responsible for the overall development, coordination and implementation of environmental, occupational health and safety programs, policies and procedures for the Texas Institute for Electronics to assure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and institutional policies.Champions workplace safety and provide leadership through communication, education and actions. Conducts EHS training and authorization of chemical safety protocols, respiratory protection, fall protection, control of hazardous energies (LOTO), confined space entry, alarm management, and others as appropriate in a semiconductor facility.Performs industrial hygiene evaluations, occupational and general safety audits to ensure a safe environment, to ensure compliance with safety standards, and to prevent potential hazards. Researches and applies regulatory and industry safety codes, such as OSHA, NFPA, NEC, SEMI, and ANSI. Investigates and evaluates new safety equipment for vestigates and reports safety incidents and near misses. Develops, implements and reports on incident investigation, cause mapping, data analysis, metrics, recurrence prevention programs, procedures and emergency plans, corrective actions. Provides audit review guidance.Represents TIE in cross-functional teams that develop plans, programs, policies, standard operating procedures. The teams may include representatives from Programming, Design and Construction, utilities, and Environmental Health and Safety. Cultivates relationships that drive implementation of safety systems and improvements that promote safe work habits.Attends UT EHS meetings, representing TIE. Reviews and updates TIE EHS policies, procedures, and best-known methods (BKMs). Supports the development of engineering and administrative controls to mitigate EHS risks.Leads site safety meetings and manages closure of related action items. Provides safety coaching to employees and leadership that align with regional safety activities and initiatives. Creates and maintains Emergency Response Team and equipment.Reviews registrations and documents for regulatory and safety compliance, such as wastewater SMR or TCEQ Tier II reporting. Manages system safety requirements for new installations and upgrades. Manages and signs off on chemical introduction into the facility.Develops, implements, and maintains ergonomic program management.Other related duties as assigned.
