AGBS Public Programming: Conceptualize public programs and events with the Curator of Art and Executive Director. Lead collective efforts to plan, organize, and execute all public programs and events for AGBS and work collaboratively on larger Black Studies Collective (BSC) initiatives. Oversee programming documentation and image archives for AGBS events.AGBS Business Operations: Create and monitor programming budget with BSC Financial Manager and AGBS Exhibitions and Collections Manager, and process all contracts, purchase orders, and other expenditures. Coordinate guest travel and honorariums with the BSC Administrative Manager as needed.AGBS Tours and Outreach: Work with curator on Development-oriented and audience-building initiatives. Develop and lead exhibition-based tours or educational activities, such as workshops and other events, in dialogue with AGBS staff. Maintain AGBS tour calendar and share regular updates about tours and events with gallery staff. Coordinate and manage tour groups as needed with help of Gallery Educator. Identify key stakeholders on campus and in Austin for AGBS outreach efforts, including identifying opportunities to engage UT students and faculty.AGBS Gallery Management :Manage opening and closing of gallery, as needed. Supervise a graduate student serving as Gallery Educator. Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate gallery attendants for the Galleries. Serve as backup for these duties as needed. Oversee Student Advisory Panel which provides more hands-on experience and education for interested undergraduates both student workers and volunteers.AGBS Communications: Oversee public-facing communication efforts for AGBS in collaboration with BSC Communications Manager. This oversight includes, among other things, a social media calendar and posts, press releases, promotional collateral, as well as the Communications Managers creation of a periodic newsletter. Maintain and update the AGBS website and AGBS documentation archive. Represent AGBS to peer local and national organizations/institutions, engaging with related exhibitions and programming to further embed AGBS within museum ecosystems.Other related functions as assigned.
