Job Description The Institute for Critical Care Medicine (ICCM) was established to advance the quality and coordination of critical care at Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH). Today, ICCM oversees the delivery of critical care services in 17 intensive care units across 6 sites within the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS). In addition, ICCM provides essential support services to patients and clinical teams across both inpatient and outpatient settings. As a Clinical Program Manager, you will join a collaborative team and work closely with clinical providers, administrative staff, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations across critical departments. In this role, you will support the administration and daily operations of three key areas at Mount Sinai Hospital: Rapid Response Team, Vascular Access Service, and the Critical-Care Nursing Float Pool. The Rapid Response Team (RRT) provides 24/7 coverage, supporting clinical teams in evaluating, treating, and triaging critically ill patients. The RRT includes intensive care physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other clinicians, ensuring timely, expert care. The Vascular Access Service (VAS) consists of physicians, advanced practice providers, and registered nurses specializing in the insertion and management of vascular access devices in both in-patient and out-patient settings. Through expert consultation, VAS enhances efficiency, improves care quality, and positively impacts patient experience. Within the Department of Nursing, the Critical-Care Float Pool provides experienced critical-care nurses resources to units throughout the hospital in response to fluctuations in census, staffing requirements, and patient acuity. This position is full-time and scheduled onsite during regular business hours at the Mount Sinai Hospital Campus, located in the Upper East Side of New York City. Qualifications + Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required. Masters in Nursing or health related field is preferred. + Certification in specialty area preferred (i.e. CCRN-Adult) + 5 years directly related experience (some supervisory preferred) + New York State License with current registration as a registered professional nurse. Certification in specialty area preferred. + Preferred: + A minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in an adult ICU setting within a tertiary healthcare center. + Leadership experience, including roles in management, clinical supervision, or as a charge RN. + Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills. + Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate multidisciplinary teams. + Ability to analyze complex data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. + Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, REDCap, and EPIC Hyperspace software. Responsibilities u2022 Oversees clinical operations within the program, using data and fact-based problem solving techniques to improve processes and outcomes. Ensures that all clinical initiatives run according to institutional and departmental policies and in accordance with any government or regulatory requirements as applicable. u2022 Recruits, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, mentors, disciplines, and evaluates staff in accordance with all internal policies and procedures. Communicates values, strategies, and objectives of department or division on a regular basis. Assigns accountabilities, delegates tasks and responsibilities, and plans, monitors and appraises job performance. u2022 Develops, maintains and reconciles departmental budget with financial responsibility and oversight for department or division. u2022 Plans, develops, and/or maintains departmental standard operating procedures. Regularly reviews policies and procedures and makes changes, or recommends changes to superiors as necessary. u2022 In conjunction with Nursing, Medical and Quality Leadership, coordinates educational and performance improvement activities within a designated clinical specialty. u2022 Develops and designs of action plans to support clinical performance and competency and provides support and educational resources to departments and services relative to nursing care delivery within the context quality assessment and improvement processes. u2022 Establishes and implements short and long term goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures for high level of performance in nursing care delivery. u2022 Coordinates and leads in the execution of day to day educational program activities, as appropriate to program objectives and areas of clinical expertise. u2022 Oversees the collection, compilation, and analysis of clinical program activity data to evaluate clinical performance and competence. u2022 Provides technical assistance, resource services, consultation and education to clinical specialty service relative to orientation, ongoing assessment of competency and performance improvement activities. u2022 Serves as a clinical role model and resource to the nursing staff. u2022 Prepares reports and analysis associated with orientation of new hires, ongoing competency and evaluation of staff performance and identification of related outcome measures. u2022 Provides timely status reports of results of assignments including identification of patterns and trends that require actions. u2022 Collaborates with other members of the health care team in the development, implementation, and ongoing review of policies, procedures, and standards of care for designated patient populations. u2022 Demonstrates knowledge of hospital, departmental and care center standards, policies, procedures and guidelines as well as regulatory agency standards. Assures readiness for Joint Commission and other agency surveys and presents related programs during Joint Commission and other agency visits. u2022 Participates in daily activities that reflect budgetary constraints and incorporates financial principles into program development and allocation of resources. u2022 Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. u2022 Participates in the performance appraisal process of designated Nursing staff.
