Enrichment - Playground Partner (Sports Instructor) LeaderThe Enrichment Sports Instructor supervises and supports elementary students during lunch and aferschool, leading sports programs while ensuring the safety and well-being of students, and serves as a positive role model.For more on Employee Perks, click on this link: Employee Benefits | YMCA of San Diego County (ymcasd.org)Schedule:Tuesday - Friday 10:00am - 12:00pm at a designated school siteContribute to planning and implementation of the daily program in accordance with YMCA policiesServeas an Elementary School Coach for the YMCA Playground Partners programPlan and implement lesson plans for sports activities during lunch/recess for grades K - 5Actively supervise program participants, ensuring their guidance and safety at all timesMaintain a positive and responsive relationship with staff, students and familiesRecognize and respond to needs of individual studentsAdhere to work schedule and be prepared for activities at the beginning of each shiftServe as role model to all studentsActively contribute and participate in staff meetings or activitiesProvide positive behavior guidance that supports developmental, social-emotional and physical needs of all studentsAdheres to YMCA dress code and Code of Conduct and Mission StatementPerform daily duties that ensure space is properly maintained, organized, clean, and safeAbility to be flexible with change within a daily scheduleVisual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situationPhysical ability to lead sports, monitor youth behavior, and perform general housekeeping responsibilitiesOther duties as assigned needs to be included to all rolesMust be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma/GEDSincere interest in and ability to work with groups of children ages 5-12 years of diverse ethnic populationsSkill set to lead students in a sports settingCompletion of Child Abuse Prevention training prior to working with program participantsCPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red CrossAmerican Heart AssociationAmerican Safety & Health InstituteYMCA will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the San Diego County Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act.
