Savannah River Mission Completion is seeking Engineers to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.The Engineer II implements solutions to mechanical, chemical, electrical and/or nuclear needs to meet standards set by the Department of Energy (DOE) for the Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) project.Assume technical responsibility for one or more phases of a program and/or ownership for unit operations within processing facilities.Collaborate with colleagues to provide innovative improvements to the existing processes.Specific job responsibilities many involve the following assignments: project engineering support, facility engineering support, process flow sheet analysis and development, procurement requirements and specifications development, technical calculations and reviews, design reviews, safety analysis development, and commercial grade dedication.Performs comprehensive engineering solutions to broadly defined and moderately complex activities.Performs studies, development, testing and analysis of designs, processes and/or procedures as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Explores approaches and recommends improvements under moderate guidance from Manager and/or higher level engineers.Collaborate with facility/department colleagues.Apply training of SRMC and specific department systems, methodologies and requirements for accomplishing tasks. Including but not limited to appropriate use of the proper tools and protective equipment required to complete tasks.May provide guidance and/or informal mentoring to new engineers.May present/explain technical information to members of team, department or facilityMaster’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university; orCurrently working towards a Master’s Degree in Engineering or closely related STEM field from an accredited college or university with expected graduation by June 30, 2026 (applicant must include expected graduation date on resume); orBachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university with professional engineering experienceBachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university with 2+ years professional engineering experienceKnowledge of advanced engineering principles and practices to develop appropriate outputsWorking knowledge of National Codes and StandardsFlexibility and adaptability to work in a changing environment with multiple demands and prioritiesGood organizational and communication skills. Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writingSound technical knowledge base of discipline’s standard concepts, principles, and techniques with the ability to apply formal training.GPA of 2.8 or higher (please list GPA in the profile)Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site’s Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor.
