Aerospace Quality Source Inspector - MechanicalPosition Title: Aerospace Mechanical Quality Source InspectorLocation:DFW Metroplex (Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Addison, Carrollton, Allen, Rowlett, Irving, Lancaster, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Desoto, Anna, Greenville, Wylie, Mabank, Trenton)Job Type: As needed per supplier shipment requirements - other supplier locations available for final sourceEmployment Type: VTR W2 Field Employee (or) VSC 1099 with LLC, if preferred.As the Mechanical Quality Source Inspector you will act on behalf of Verify's customer and will be responsible to ensure compliance of product during in process and final inspections. You will be trained on customer processes and requirements to ensure standards and specifications are followed, while supporting reporting and communication on issues and non-conformances.Job Description:The quality inspector shall support on-siteat single or multiple supplier facilities to perform documentation, visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.Validate all product and paperwork compliant to including but not limited to: engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications.Inspect Certificates of Conformance from material suppliers and special process providers to verify compliance to requirements.Inspect Certificates of Conformance from material, external suppliers, and other service providers to ensure these items conform to customers purchase order requirements and specificationsPerform a wide variety of conventional inspection operations using precision measurement instruments and techniques.Report via operating systems for Customer and Verify while communicating any non-conformance while providing reject or rework disposition. Must be willing to utilizepersonal laptop to complete customer inspection records within SAP platform and Verify' s reporting platform.Requirements:Strong background in the manufacturing and inspection of mechanical parts and assemblies.Ability to determine, through visual examination and precision measurement, adherence to blueprint specifications, GD&T requirements, and workmanship standards.Experience checking close-tolerance parts produced from a wide range of materials (steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, forgings, castings, extrusions, etc.).Proficient in the use of common inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, surface plates, thread gauges, etc.).Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102. Must be able to review complete technical data packages and ensure full document traceability.Familiarity with inspection methods such as dimensional inspection, visual inspection, surface finish evaluation, and basic non-destructive testing (NDT).Knowledge of special processes (plating, heat treat, welding, coatings) and NADCAP requirements is preferred.Ability to interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) according to ASME Y14.5.Detail-oriented and proficient at interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.Proficiency with personal computers for inspection reporting and document managementRequirements:Posses soft skills to clearly communicate non-conformancesinternally and externallyCandidate should be computer savvy andMUSTbe willing to use personal laptop to complete inspection reporting via SPP (Supplier Performance Platform)Must be willing to utilizepersonal cell phoneMust be willing to work in fast paced manufacturingenvironment and posses all PPE required per suppliers safety requirements.Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, maneuverMust be able to lift at least 30 lbs.Requirements Pre-Employment:Visual Acuity:Must be able to pass visual acuity tests, including color distinction.Background Checks & Drug TestingU.S. Person Status1099 Contractor with established LLC/DBA.
