Medical Assistant- Dermatology

A cosmetic dermatology and MOHS Practice.We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dermatology team as a Medical Assistant. The ideal candidate will support the dermatologist in delivering high-quality patient care, assisting with medical and cosmetic dermatologic procedures, providing patient education, and ensuring smooth clinical operations. This role requires a strong clinical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.Assist the dermatologist with medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology procedures (e.g., biopsies, excisions, laser treatments, cryotherapy, chemical peels)Prepare patients for procedures, including taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and ensuring informed consentAdminister medications and injections (e.g., local anesthesia, biologics, corticosteroids) as directedPerform wound care, dressing changes, and suture removalsProvide patient education on pre- and post-procedure care, skincare routines, and treatment plansMaintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)Ensure sterile field setup and instrument sterilization in compliance with infection control standardsTriage patient calls and concerns, including prescription refills, test results, and follow-up instructionsMonitor inventory and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked and organizedSupport clinical staff and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered work environmentProficiency in assisting with dermatologic procedures and use of EMR systemsExceptional interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skillsDetail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environmentProfessional demeanor with a patient-first attitudeSix months of Dermatology back office experience REQUIRED.MUST be able to Scribe in EMA/ModMed EHR,Surgical assisting experience preferred, but not required.Cosmetic procedures/product sales a plus, but not required.Set up and sanitize exam rooms, clean instruments.Must have great rapport with other staff and patients.Maintain Pathology Logs/call back patients with results.MedicalDentalVision#IND1
