We want your knowledge and expertise Job Summary and Qualifications Our Environmental Services Associates are on the front lines of preventing the spread of infections in the hospital. In this role, EVS colleagues have important contact with patients and clinical staff every day and use specialized janitorial tools and techniques to promote a healing environment. Join our team where your commitment to service, safety and professionalism will contribute to a positive patient experience. What You Will Do In This Role + Dust or wet mops floor and vacuum carpets. Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, windowsills, vents and related furnishings. u00b7 Cleans and polishes mirrors, glass partitions, doors and similar interior glass surfaces. Scours, cleans or polishes water fountains, bathtubs, showers, lavatories or other fixtures and walls, counters, or other surfaces. u00b7 Replenishes bathroom supplies of paper towels, soap and other items from storage. u00b7 Disposes of refuse in specific containers as required (i.e. Bio-Waste) and regular trash. u00b7 Operates mechanical equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and other carpet cleaning equipment after appropriate instructions. u00b7 Cleans custodial equipment and storage areas. Arranges cleaning supplies, and requests needed supplies for Supervisor. u00b7 Reports broken or inoperative equipment to Supervisor. u00b7 Collects and places soiled linens in laundry collection area. u00b7 Constantly on the lookout for areas that are not clean and demonstrate initiative to clean them. u00b7 Assists other housekeeping or Hospital personnel as needed. u00b7 Must be able to work harmoniously with a variety of individual personalities, often in a high activity environment. u00b7 Demonstrate consistent use of safety measures associated with chemicals and equipment. u00b7 Demonstrate his/her responsibilities for fire, emergencies, and disasters after appropriate instructions. u00b7 Must be flexible to meet changing conditions. u00b7 Greets patients and visitors courteously and professionally. u00b7 Participates in the departmental quality improvement process, CQI u00b7 Assists with other duties as assigned by the Director, Assistant Director and Supervisor. What Qualifications You Will Need + Environmental Services training helpful + Must be able to read signs, labels and notices + Ability to communicate effectively in English + Prior Environmental Services experience preferred Medical City Lewisville is a full-service 190+ bed medical and surgical facility.
