AWS Solutions Architect

Overview GovCIO is currently hiring for AWS Solutions Architect with DevSecOps experience to provide development, support, architecture, and leadership for a government application being moved into the AWS cloud. This position will be located in Alexandria Virginia and will be a fully remote position. It is a temporary position, likely to last only from 8/1/2025-3/20/2026 Responsibilities Builds and codes applications and/or modules using languages such as C++, visual basic, ABAP, JAVA, XTML, etc. Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. May design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users. Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. May build add-on modules using application program language. + Designs and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools + Maintains and modifies existing software applications. + Analyzes detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution. + Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures. + Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications. + Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards. Primarily and AWS Cloud position with working knowledge of both AWS and Java development + Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for AWS solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assuranceu2022 Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measuresu2022 Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessaryu2022 Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivityu2022 Create blueprints for hybrid cloud infrastructures centered around AWS (network, server, storage, security, and management software topologies), Run technical workshops and advise customers on architectural and strategic IT decisionsu2022 Ensure that a quality solution is delivered in a timely manner, within budget, and to our client's satisfactionu2022 Participate in architecture definition for Cloud Initiatives utilizing industry best practices and technologiesu2022 Provide solutions incorporating cloud engineering best practices , Develop technical content like white paper etc + Planning of the project together with other developersu2022 Development of the application structure for cloud solutionsu2022 Creating a cloud productu2022 Debuggingu2022 Carrying out disaster recoveryu2022 Setting up blue-green environmentu2022 Applying development optimization toolsu2022 Automation of work processes, such as deploymentu2022 Bug detection and fixingu2022 Creation of various product featuresu2022 Identifying the best cloud tech stack for the projectu2022 Implementing modifications and updates after the release Qualifications Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience) Required Skills and Experience + Bacheloru2019s or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering + 8+ years of relevant work experience in solutions design and engineering, Experience with Amazon Web Services or similar cloud platformu2022 Build and configure delivery environments supporting CD/CI tools such as Gitlab Pipeline Runner and Gitlab using an Agile delivery methodologyu2022 Experience with systems reliability, load balancing, monitoring, logging;u2022 Experience with fully automating CI/CD pipelines end-to-end, from code commits to production;u2022 Develop, document, and implement CI/CD strategy for management of Infrastructure as Code IaC baseline;u2022 Solid experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments;u2022 Strong automation development skills. Needs to be proficient in Terraform and one or more automation languages [i. e.
