Your Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commissioning Agent with 3 plus years of experience in building commissioning for public and private sector clients. This role places you at the forefront of ensuring building systems perform efficiently, sustainably, and reliably. Youu2019ll contribute to projects of all sizes, from complex commercial fit-outs to billion-dollar developments, working alongside a forward-thinking team thatu2019s passionate about redefining industry standards. While this position is based out of one of our major offices (Houston, Dallas, Austin), we value adaptability. You will have the opportunity to travel to project sites across the U.S. for short durations, and short-term remote work opportunities may be available, based on project needs and supervisor approval. Your Key Responsibilities - Develop comprehensive Commissioning (Cx) plans and Cx specifications. - Lead Cx activities, including kick-off meetings, progress updates, and on-site testing coordination. Execution and Documentation: - Assist Owners with the development of Owner Project Requirements (OPR). - Review design documents and construction submittals to ensure alignment with OPR. - Conduct field inspections, functional performance testing, and system verifications for mechanical, electrical, and automation systems. - Create detailed reports summarizing deficiencies, recommendations, and solutions. Energy and Sustainability: - Support energy efficiency initiatives, including ASHRAE Level 1, 2, and 3 energy audits. - Contribute to projects pursuing certifications like LEED, WELL, and Energy Star. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: - Partner with Stantecu2019s Commissioning Teams across the United States as well as the wider North American Commissioning Teams to implement industry-leading commissioning processes. - Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives to advance company standards. ufeffYour Capabilities and Credentials - Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and building control systems. - Experience using tools like CxAlloy and software such as Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam. - Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings effectively. Emotional Intelligence Skills: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with attention to detail. - A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with self-motivation to excel. Education and Experience - Professional Engineer with 3+ of commissioning experience. Or, - Bacheloru2019s degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Building Science with 5+ years of commissioning experience. Alternative Paths: - Associate, Technical, or Vocational degree with 8+ years of commissioning experience. - 10+ years of relevant experience in commissioning, testing, and balancing, or building automation trades may be substituted for Preferred - Certification/Training: National Commissioning Certification u2013 BCxP, CxA or CCP or ability and willingness to achieve certification within one year. - Advanced Qualifications: Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Energy Manager in Training (EMIT) is a plus. - Fieldwork may require exposure to outdoor conditions, including inclement weather.
