What You Will Be Doing: As a senior level authority with 20 years of experience In fabrication and assembly producibility analysis in Metallic Structures & Composites,u2014you will serve as a trusted subject matter expert, applying your knowledge of composite and metallics fabrication and structural full size determinant assembly (FSDA) producibility, and advanced manufacturing techniques to support our most cutting-edge programs. You will: u2022 Collaborate across design and production teams to optimize aircraft structures for FSDA and design for cost manufacturability at our advanced development sites. u2022 Lead design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and concurrent engineering efforts to ensure new designs are scalable and ready for fast-paced production environments. u2022 Guide engineering decisions with deep insight into modern materials, tooling approaches, and emerging manufacturing methodsu2014especially in FSDA composites and metallic structures fabrication and assembly. u2022 Influence design and manufacturing direction by translating complex technical concepts into compelling long term production rate narratives for senior leadership. u2022 Drive technology adoption across our Skunk Works campuses, from digital twin integration to additive manufacturing workflows. u2022 Serve as a bridge between engineering, manufacturing, and program teams across our locations ensuring alignment, knowledge sharing, and execution excellence. u2022 Security Clearance : Final Secret Clearance investigation within the last 5 years will be required. Basic Qualifications: u2022 Full Size Determinate Assembly: Experience with design and assembly processes to support minimal drilling, shimming and tooling on assembly in metallics and composites. Understand and practice efforts to minimize variation through the use of Variation Management tool suites. u2022 Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Cost: In-depth knowledge of design principles and in depth experience with digital tool suites that ensure producibility, including tooling design, assembly design & simulation, tolerance analysis, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing (GD&T). u2022 Manufacturing Processes: Familiarity with various manufacturing processes, such as composite and metallic machining, additive, bonding, forging, and 3D printing. u2022 Digital Twin and Simulation: Experience with digital twin technologies; experience with simulation tools to drive optimization and virtual manufacturing solutions. u2022 Computer-Aided Design (CAD): Expertise in CAD software, such as CATIA V5, V6 or NX, to analyze and optimize designs. u2022 Bachelors Degree: Required in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field. Desired Skills: u2022 Relevant professional certifications, such as PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing. u2022 Knowledge of current Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM) methods in 3DX and / or Teamcenter Accelerator, advances, and enablement of integrated workflows. u2022 Knowledge of cost estimation principles and practices to estimate manufacturing costs and optimize design for cost. u2022 Familiarity with supply chain management principles and practices to ensure effective supplier selection and management. u2022 Understanding of risk management principles and practices to identify and mitigate risks associated with design and manufacturing. u2022 Familiarity with Industry 4.0 principles and technologies, such as IoT, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. u2022 Understanding of digital twin principles and applications to optimize design, manufacturing, and maintenance. u2022 Knowledge of cutting edge manufacturing processes and technologies such as 3D printing and additive manufacturing; advanced materials and composite structures; and reusability and refurbishment of vehicles. u2022 Familiarity with manufacturing processes and technologies such as advanced robotics and automation systems; AI-powered quality control and inspection systems; and lightweight materials and structures (e.g., carbon fiber, aluminum). u2022 Experience with manufacturing processes and technologies specific to the aerospace and defense industry such as high-performance materials and coatings; advanced propulsion systems and power generation; and secure and reliable communication systems. u2022 Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and suppliers. u2022 Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills to address complex technical challenges and evolving project requirements. u2022 Leadership and mentoring skills to guide and develop junior engineers and influence design and manufacturing decisions. u2022 Commitment to continuous learning and innovation, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in advanced manufacturing. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $138,100 - $243,455. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidateu2019s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
