This position requires coordination with all departments of El Paso Water Parks and ensures proper and efficient operation, care and maintenance of the facilities.Essential Duties & Responsibilitiesu2022Enforce all rules and regulations.u2022Provide needed supervision to prevent accidents.u2022Scan assigned areas and never leave unless qualified relief is present.u2022Assist aquatic leadership to ensure smooth operation of the facilities.u2022Participate in in-service training programs for safety, customer service at all water park facilities. Complete all required company trainings and compliance courses as assigned, including but not limited to completion of mandatory 4 hours per month of In-service as per E&A lifeguard certificate qualification.u2022Responsible for the care and maintenance of issued equipment.u2022Keep the water park areas clear of dangerous objects and substances.u2022Immediately report needed repairs to the aquatics/park services supervisor and or manager.u2022Present a favorable, professional public image.u2022Perform related duties as assigned by aquatics supervisor and or manager. Duties may include, but are not limited to, general housekeeping, general maintenance, inspection of equipment and aquatic features within the park.u2022Assist in opening, closing, and operating of the facility as directed by management.u2022Assist in maintaining pools by brushing, skimming, vacuuming, scrubbing, etc. as required.u2022Adheres to company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.u2022Ensuring that guests receive outstanding customer service by providing a friendly, fun, safe environment.u2022Maintains high standards, positive attitude, and professional appearance.Lifeguard El Paso Water Parks Revised 12/05/24u2022Attend monthly staff meetings as required. Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with all other departments.u2022Follow and enforce all sanitation procedures including safety guidelines and OSHA requirements.u2022Enforce El Paso Water Parks, Ellis & Associates and ASM Global safety standards.u2022Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.u2022Recognize and respond effectively to all emergency situations.u2022Maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date professionally in the aquatics and risk management field.u2022Performs other related duties as assigned.Swim Instructor Duties & Responsibilities (if applicable)u2022Provide quality swim lessons and commit to the full summer season of waterpark programming.u2022Provide customer service feedback for swim lesson participants and update them on the progression of student.u2022Attend 2 hours per month of swim lesson in-service trainings.Qualifications & Skillsu2022Must be 16 years of age or older required.u2022Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.u2022Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions.u2022Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.u2022Must be able to swim, perform water activities and rescues.u2022Must be able to swim 50 yards (front crawl or breaststroke), swim under water for 10 feet, and retrieve a 10-pound brick from bottom of a pool (shallow water).u2022Must be able to swim 200 yards (front crawl or breaststroke), tread water for 2 minutes with hands out of the water and retrieve a 10-pound brick from the deepest part of the pool (deep water).u2022Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, vendors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.u2022Current Ellis & Associates (or equivalent) lifeguard certification preferred or able to attain certification upon hire.u2022Recognizes an emergency and takes appropriate action.u2022Excellent verbal communication skills.u2022Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.u2022If applicable, must be able to provide a current swim instructor certification and/or obtain Ellis & Associates JEM Swim Instructor certification upon hiring.u2022Able to communicate and direct all ages effectively in an instructional environmentMinimum Education & Experienceu2022Working towards a High School Diploma or GED preferredu2022Ability to puter Skillsu2022Operate a personal computer using Windows, Microsoft Office, and other standard office equipment preferred.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
