GENERAL PURPOSE: The Manager, Business Intelligence will conduct critical strategic analysis for the Stores teams at Ross and dd's Discounts, leading to insight and actions that improve business performance. This position will report to the Director of Business Intelligence and will frequently interact VP+ stakeholders and Stores Leadership. The candidate will utilize their training in analytics to accurately and efficiently process large amounts of data, revealing store performance trends and identifying root causes. They summarize results into clear written communications for Stores Leadership and Senior Executives. These reporting and analysis responsibilities are a mix of recurring (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and ad-hoc activities, depending on business needs and priorities. The position will require the Manager to establish cross-functional partnerships across all facets of the organization (both Field and Corporate). The base salary range for this role is $93,000 - $140,400. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Design and conduct financial and operational analyses to understand drivers of performance and identify root causes of changes in performance trends: u2022 Examples include store sales analysis (by various store segmentations), profitability drivers, analysis of operational metrics, impact from strategic initiatives, etc. u2022 Proactively identify opportunities and execute analysis to develop tangible and fact-based recommendations to improve performance. u2022 Partner with key stakeholders to build and continuously improve business intelligence processes, tools, dashboards, metrics, and insights to provide the business with access to actionable data. Support operational and technical responsibilities that include data preparation, data warehousing, data flow, reporting integrity and accuracy, predictive analytics, data exploration, and socialization. u2022 Manage projects from end to end, including work plan creation, coordination with other functions in the organization, and support materials development and verbal communication/presentation of findings and recommendations. Become a subject matter expert on store hours and lead the analysis, strategy, and execution support for optimizing store operating hours across the chain. u2022 Analyze sales trends, labor costs, and customer behavior to identify opportunities for profit-optimized schedules across stores. u2022 Lead cross-functional review cycles with field leadership, payroll, and internal teams to propose and implement operating hour changes aligned to store performance, risk profiles, and market potential. u2022 Create and present executive-level analyses and strategy decks, distilling complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership and field decision-makers. u2022 Build and maintain advanced reporting tools (e.g., Power BI dashboards, store scorecards) to measure the impact of store hour changes on comp sales, payroll usage, customer experience, and other operational metrics. u2022 Ensure data integrity and visibility across platforms, coordinating with Marketing and Operations to maintain accurate hours in internal systems and public listings (e.g., store locator, Google). Become a subject matter expert on Ross' customer insight capabilities and drive development, and execution, of daily, weekly, and monthly customer insights processes and analyses. u2022 Become an expert on using and maintaining the various customer insights tools (particularly our receipt survey, which gathers customer feedback on their shopping experience). Own/maintain vendor relationships. u2022 Perform analyses to identify key operational areas that drive customer satisfaction. Develop recommendations for strategic payroll investments based on these insights. u2022 Develop processes to support adoption of customer feedback tools across field leadership and stores. u2022 Maintain recurring updates (e.g., monthly district/store alignment updates, new store additions) and work with 3rd party survey vendor to revise survey questions, as needed u2022 Design and complete other customer insights-focused ad hoc analyses as requested by Store Leadership and Senior Executives COMPETENCIES: u2022 Communicates Effectively u2022 Ensures Accountability & Execution u2022 Organizational Agility u2022 Manages Conflict u2022 Collaboration u2022 Business Acumen u2022 Leading by Example u2022 Plans, Aligns & Prioritizes QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: u2022 Bachelor's degree required preferably in an analytical field such as Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline u2022 5+ years of leadership and project management experience, preferably in a retailer, analytical or consulting setting u2022 Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group - including Senior Executives, managers, and subject matter experts within and outside the department - and the ability to explain analytical methodology and results to non-technical audiences.
