Requisition ID: 2025-421936 Employment Type: Part Time Department: Physical Rehabilitation Care Hours/Pay Period: 64 Shift: Evening Weekly Schedule: Sunday - Saturday 1500-2330 Remote: No Category: Technician Responsibilities Position Summary: The Rehabilitation Technician works with a team of clinicians (physical and occupational therapist, speech pathologist and registered nurse), who are jointly responsible for the care of rehabilitation patients. The Rehabilitation Technician is an integral part of the team, providing personal care, specified treatment, transportation, and general assistance to an assigned group of patients. Responsibilities include following specific treatment plans, maintenance of equipment and supplies, and the documentation of treatment and charges as appropriate. Under the direct supervision of a registered therapist or nurse, demonstrates competency in the delivery of patient care to a general rehabilitation population, which can include adult and geriatric patients. Qualifications Minimum: + Minimum of one-year acute care hospital or rehab setting patient care experience required. + Completion of an approved Rehabilitation Aide program or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. + Ability to perform basic nursing tasks as identified in Rehabilitation Technician competency skills checklist required. + Current Certified Nursing Assistant, AND / OR successful completion of one year of nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy or speech pathology college level course work required. + Ability to interpret type and level of patient care ordered, record patient vital signs, understand and follow basic patient care instructions, and perform simple arithmetic calculations in order to take and record patient weight, vital signs and graphics (intake/output) required. + Current BLS certification required. Preferred: + Knowledge of physical, occupational, speech therapy and nursing principles for the rehabilitation setting preferred. + College course work in nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy or occupational therapy preferred.
