Full Time - CDL Delivery Driver

Essential Functions: Customer Service u2022Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs u2022Seeks out customers to understand his/her needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise u2022Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions by walking them through projects when necessary u2022Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers u2022Communicates information to customers regarding all stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Loweu2019s programs u2022Contacts customers regarding delivery or coordinates with the truck driver to call the customer In-stock u2022Plans delivery activities, prints loading tickets, and delivers merchandise according to schedule to ensure on-time delivery of orders u2022Pulls merchandise, builds and bands delivery loads, and loads trucks (within payload) according to delivery order u2022Inspects condition of products (e.g., appliances) before loading for delivery or assisting customer with loading u2022Matches items on invoice with quantities loaded by verifying descriptions, items, and model numbers Clean and Safe Stores u2022Ensures that the loads are safe, secure, and within Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations u2022Updates delivery and route status (e.g., on-site, completed) on system (e.g., iPhone) for tracking purposes u2022Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery u2022Verifies daily vehicle inspections and reports and ensures cleanliness, maintenance, and repairs for delivery vehicles and other equipment (e.g., lift gates) u2022Completes Department of Transportation (DOT) reporting to maintain DOT certification and CDL compliance u2022Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicates them to management and/or Asset Protection u2022Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs (e.g., Zone Recovery) to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas u2022Maintains a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates u2022Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to oneu2019s regular job duties: top stock safety, reinstalling safety cables, use of aisle blockers, a tether line on power equipment, spotters, and safety devices u2022Operates store equipment as needed depending on one specific role and department (e.g., Zebra phone, telephone, paging system, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV surveillance system, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, flooring cutters, compacter baler) u2022In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual is held accountable for other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: u2022Class A CDL License - In locations with multi-unit CMV (tractor trailer & flatbed) a class A license is required to operate. or u2022Class B CDL License - In locations with single-unit CMV (tandem flatbed) a class A or B license with air break endorsement is required to operate. and u2022Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment and u2022Ability to pass MVR screen in accordance with company requirements. and u2022Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law u2022Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction) u2022Must be 21 years of age u2022Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations Preferences: u20221 Year Experience driving a semi-truck/trailer or certification from a driving school u20226 Months Experience performing in-home delivery or retail customer service u20223 Months Experience operating a forklift or Moffett onloading/offloading a vehicle Pay Range: $25.20 - $27.25 per hour _Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
