This individual will be responsible for managing constituent casework, building relationships with local stakeholders, and helping ensure responsive, high-quality service to the this dynamic role, you will:u2022Serve as a first point of contact for constituents seeking assistance with state or local issues, including housing, public benefits, immigration, education, and moreu2022Manage constituent casework from intake through resolution using internal tracking systemsu2022Attend and represent the Senator at community board meetings, neighborhood events, town halls, and public forums.u2022Establish and maintain strong relationships with community-based organizations, tenant associations, advocacy groups, and faith leadersu2022Prepare community reports, updates, and correspondence for internal and external useu2022Provide regular feedback to legislative and communications staff on local trends and constituent priorities. Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications for Candidates Moving Forward:u2022Masteru2019s degree in social work (MSW)u2022Strong knowledge of Brooklyn communities and issues impacting urban NYC neighborhoodsu2022Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsu2022Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable but not necessary (e.g., Spanish, Haitian Creole, Russian, Chinese)u2022Experience in government, social services, or community organizing is a plusu2022Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skillsu2022Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and casework management softwareThis is a full-time position with some evenings and weekends required for community outreach.
