Job Description Radiation Oncology department is seeking a medical dosimetrist with Eclipse and Mosaiq experience. The Medical Dosimetrist works under the general supervision of the Medical Physicists, and generates treatment plans for external beam and brachytherapy patient treatments. The Dosimetrist is expected to remain current with technical developments, standards of practice, professional issues and changes in regulatory requirements. This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office, 2 days remote). Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: ? Bachelor of Science (Dosimetrist program, computer science, physics or physical science) ? Be eligible for the board certification. ? Computer (MS Office) and internet browsing skills. ? Good written and oral communication skills. ? Ability to work under stressful conditions is essential and must be detail oriented. ? Work thought out, planned in advance and successfully implemented to achieve efficiency and quality patient care. Work is completed in a timely manner; meeting deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: ? Certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (CMD) ? At least one year of experience as medical dosimetrist. ? A graduate from The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) program. SEIU 1199 at Elmhurst Hospital Center and Queens Hospital Center for Radiologist, A45E - Radiotherapy - EHC, Elmhurst Hospital Center Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities: u2022 Works with technical staff during patient simulation, when required u2022 Generates treatment plan as per physicianu2019s prescription in consultation with physicist u2022 Performs independent plan check using the established method of the department u2022 Transfers approved plan data to the record and verify system (R&V)and verify data consistency with the approved plan u2022 Assists in setting up difficult treatment fields in the machine for the first treatment, when required u2022 Performs weekly chart-check. Attends weekly chart-round u2022 Assists preparation and loading of sealed sources for brachytherapy application u2022 Assists in brachytherapy procedure u2022 Assists planning and fabrication of blocks/cutouts, when needed u2022 Performs measurements, when needed u2022 Assists machine commissioning, acceptance testing, QA, etc. u2022 Assists data acquisition, data modeling and commissioning, etc. u2022 Prepares documentation, forms, etc. u2022 Follows patientu2019s confidentiality requirements u2022 Maintains department quality assurance protocols u2022 Maintains functionality of the planning system and peripherals u2022 Completes required continued education and training u2022 Provides emergency dosimetry coverage, when warranted u2022 Follows departmental policies and procedures About Us Strength through Unity and Inclusion The Mount Sinai Health System is committed to fostering an environment where everyone can contribute to excellence.
